YOUR VIEWS
The
first science and art season generated wide and positive coverage in the regional
national and international media – from e-mail discussion lists and
local evening newspapers, to UK-wide broadsheet press and specialised art
magazines.
Here are a few highlights from comments in the guest book by visitors to the Designer Bodies exhibition.
‘This is fantastic’ (D.Blackwell);
‘Brilliant’ (Laura Cameron Lewis)
‘Sobering’ (anon)
‘Great exhibition. Good to see Jacqueline Donachie’s work displayed! Others were interesting, too.’ (Scott Keir, Copus)
‘Interesting, challenging, interactive. Makes people think. Thanks.’ (Nadia K)
‘Really
interesting. Good use of space, research and information provision’
(Kate O’Riordan)
‘So comprehensive it makes a good statement for the unification of art and science’ (anon)
‘Slightly confused at first although found it engaging’
(Michelle McKeawn)
Additionally,
if resorting to the language of statistics, all respondents to a response
form rated Designer Bodies: Towards the Posthuman Condition Symposium very
highly: 75% considered it very good and 25% considered it excellent. Again,
75% believed the symposium was excellent value for money and as much felt
the organisation of the symposium was of a high standard and will definitely
attend a similar event in the future.
